About the barn
Makers Barn is a place to discover handmade products by rural craftspeople.

How it began
I’m Rosie and I’m a coppice worker, green woodworker and hedge layer and I live and work in West Sussex. Setting up Makers Barn has been something I’d been dreaming of and planning for a long time.

A celebration of making
Makers Barn is a celebration of rural crafts, bringing together over 100 makers. Many of these crafts, once found in abundance, are today quite rare, some even endangered. It is so important that we keep these heritage craft skills alive.

Meet the Maker events
Our Meet the Makers Day has become an annual event in early September, as well as our craft demos on Saturdays in the run up to Christmas. It’s so important that these rural crafts skills are shared, people can see the work that goes into making these high quality handmade crafts and meet the makers that they are buying from.
